I was using Windows Live Mail before switching to Thunderbird and have made Thunderbird the default email app however, when I right click a photo and select send to > mail recipient, it still opens window live mail and does not recognize TBird as the default.

Chosen solution

Please check registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail

In search type 'Registry' and select 'Registry Editor' (OR in search type 'Run' and select 'Run app' > type regedit and click on 'OK' )

Locate this registry entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail on right side double click on 'Default' Enter Mozilla Thunderbird in 'Value Data' click on 'OK'

Thank you, worked like a charm. I appreciate your explanation too, instructions were easy to follow. I've had others send me to the registry for non related items and it's always been very intimidating.
