Your email was returned
I am Getting both "incorrect password" and "your email was returned" errors
I know the password is correct as I can still use it to log in (including logging into these forums) though I am getting this error when trying to create a recovery key or reset my password
For the "your email was returned" error, the email address is typed correctly in my account and I have gotten confirmation emails from FireFox as recently as 2 days ago. I get this error when trying to sign in to sync the Multi-Account Containers addon, as well as when trying to use "forgot password" to get a reset link.
I'm not sure how to proceed with these errors as each issue is preventing me from resolving them on my own.
At one point while I was getting the incorrect password error I got a message that my account is locked and an email would be sent to me for confirmation...though of course that also got "your email was returned"

Thank you for the help. I tried this on 3 different devices, including in Windows Safe Mode though still got the same issue.
The only way I was able to get around this was to add a secondary email to my Fire Fox account, make it the Primary, and then delete the previous Primary from the account and wait about a day. I was finally able to create a recovery key. After another day I was able to add the original email back to the account.

I had been hoping that giving it some time would resolve this issue though I am still getting both issues, my concern is that if I ever lose access to this account I will have no way to get back into it. I cannot use the "change password" option as it says my current password is not correct, and I cannot reset my account to create a new password as it says my email is invalid...

as a test, can you try this issue via FireFox Safe Mode?
Thank you for the suggestion, I was not aware Safe Mode existed. I was able to update my password while in safe mode, though while trying to create a recovery key it still says that my new password is invalid. Afterwards when going back to my account page it says a recovery key exists even though it did not accept the password. When clicking on the "remove" button it gives "rk-remove-error", though after refreshing the page again it looks like the recovery key was removed
are you trying to access your online email account from FireFox or from Thunderbird?
if from the browser, then try again via a different browser.
if from the thunderbird, try reposting your question in the Forum for Thunderbird.
I am doing this in the FireFox browser, just going into the browser's menu > Account Settings
I tried again in Edge and Chrome, though am getting the same error when trying to create a recovery key
Unfortunately, i use FireFox Version 87 and i dont have a menu account settings.
However, another test you can try is booting Windows in Safe Mode then see if this mode helps to overcome the errrors you are receiving.
If it does, then you have eliminated the possible reasons for this issue.
