I just set up a Gmail account and transferred all my files from Outlook to my new Thunderbird Gmail. I haven't told anyone about it yet and don't like the name I used. I would like to change the name or set up another account that forwards all emails to the one I just set up before I notify every one of the changes. Thanks for your help and keep it simple; I'm not tech Savey. i.e. -abc@gmail .com to xyz@gmail.com

Thunderbird isn't an email account but a piece of software used to manage an account. To change your username, you would need to contact your Email provider. There may also be a setting in 'dodgyname@gmail.com' that will forward all your email to another Email account - in which case you would need to make another Gmail account and, eventually, get TB to access this account for email retrieval.

Or why not delete 'dodgyname@gmail.com' and make a single new Gmail account?
