how to install firefox instead of explorer on a freash win xp install
I am rebuilding my win xp pro pc after a trojan horse killed it (it was ugly!). I want to avoid installing Internet Explorer at all and install Firefox as my only browser. How can I get a complete installation file so I can run it from a disc and get on the web without any other browser installed on my computer. I don't know if this is possible or not, but I hope it is. The only other computer that I have is a MAC portable and I can't get to Windows possibilities on the Firefox site. Any one got any help for me? thanks, Michael

Open this link in your File Explorer: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.15/win32/en-US/ This is an FTP link and it doesn't require a web browser to work. Once you download the installer Firefox_Setup_3.6.15.exe, you can launch it to install Firefox. See also Installing Firefox for more details.
