I have Firefox 4.0 on Windows XP (SP3) and this was a problem with the previous Firefox version. Firefox does not open .pdf documents; I just get a blank screen. I have Foxit Reader and I also got the problem with Adobe Reader. I notice that when I go to Options, Applications, Firefox Reader Document is not listed under Content Type and there is no other reference to .pdf files. I can not see how to add Foxit Reader to the Content Type list.

Thanks

This advice, below, from Foxit has solved the problem. I needed to restart after following the instructions.

You may need to reinstall Foxit Reader again. Please uninstall the existing Foxit Reader on your computer, and download the exe version at

http://cdn01.foxitsoftware.com/pub/foxit/reader/desktop/win/4.x/4.3/enu/FoxitReader431_enu_Setup.exe,

execute the package to install it. Please ensure the option for Firefox Plugin is ticked. Finally try again. Please exit Firefox when installing.
