(EXCUSE MY ALL CAPS - VISION PROBLEM) PASSWORD CAPTURE IS A GREAT FEATURE! BUT - ON SOME FEW SITES, FIREFOX CANNOT CAPTURE USER I.D. AND PASSWORD - SO - HOW CAN I MANUALLY ENTER THIS INFO INTO 'SAVED PASSWORD' UNDER TOOLS/OPTIONS? THANK YOU: JNR

DOES FIREFOX NOT SAVE THE PASSWORDS WITH THE SAME LINK? SOME WEBSITES HAVE THE LOGIN FORM IN DIFFERENT LINKS. SO FIREFOX REMEMBERS THE PASSWORD ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFIC LINK YOU SAVED.

REGARDING THE VISION PROBLEM, TRY USING THE MAGNIFIER IN WINDOWS IN "ACCESSORIES -> EASE OF ACCESS" OR JUST ZOOMING THE PAGE UNDER VIEW -> ZOOM TO HAVE AN EVEN BETTER VIEW.

I HOPE THIS HELPS

THEN TRY THE "Saved Password Editor" ADDON. IT MIGHT JUST DO WHAT YOU NEED.

Be aware that if Firefox doesn't offer to store a password then Firefox probably won't fill the password as well if you visit that website and sign on.
In that case you can try to type the first letter of the name and/or double click the name field or press the cursor Down arrow.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
If that is the case then you can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
