Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

Did you change the DPI setting in Vista via Control Panel > Personalization?

It sounds like your web browser is zoomed in too far. You can find out about zooming in and out of webpages using firefox here: Using Zoom in Firefox
