The update box keeps popping up to update to 3.6.18 but when I click to update it says connection to update server but then nothing happens no matter how long I wait. I am currently running 3.5.19. I do not want to go to Firefox 7.0 at this time. I am running Vista SP2 fully updated. I have the latest flash player. How do I get update 3.6.18?

If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

   Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
   Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
   Uninstall your current Firefox version.
Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Thank you for the prompt response. I will try the version 3.6.23 to see if it solves the problem. BTW the link to version 4.0 takes you to 7.0. Is there nothing between 3.6 and 7.0 available? Thanks again for the suggestion, I'm sure that it will work.
