Real Player Downloader and Real Downloader were blocked a short while ago because of problems it was causing. Has any of that been remedied? I miss the ease of Real Dowmloader.

hello, try to download & install the latest version of real player at real.com.
I was kind of hoping I would get an answer before wasting the time to install it then have to uninstall it because it doesn't work.
real player 15 was blocked over half a year ago, since it caused issues with the adobe flash plugin - in the meantime, version 16.0.0.282 is available at real.com, which is not blocklisted by firefox.
in case this new version "doesn't work" for any other reason please contact real's support, since then it isn't an issue with firefox.
Big screen pops up after installation the says "This version does not support this browser". So here i go again,,,trying to get rid of every little piece of this.
Got an e-mail from Mozilla. Made the mistake of updating, and now the Real Player Downloader quit working on Audio. It worked fine before I updated. Had this problem once before, but don't remember how I fixed it. Tried all the help pages , which just say 'go to Add-Ons, then Extensions, and locate Real Player Browser Plugin and Disable it.Blah blah. No help on any of these. Well, I do not even HAVE that listed. I have Real Player Download Plugin 16.0.2.32. The functions work on Internet Explorer. Why is this such a problem for you people to fix? Wish to hell I'd never have updated this bastard, because it worked before.
So it is almost 4 months since the complaint and question and we are no closer to a solution. The Downloader plug in that I use is OK but it isn't as fast as the Real Downloader and with the Real Downloader, there was no question about downloading a file. Just something that I really liked and got used to in earlier versions of Firefox. Never had a security problem.
Not really sure what the problem is here, because I can get it to work on Internet Explorer. Had this problem one other time, and finally fixed it, but don't remember what I did that fixed it. I uninstalled Real Player, then re-installed it, so it isn't that. And I did get that Mozilla screen that asks if I want to allow the Add On, when I did the re-install, to which I say OK. Before, that used to work. This started back up when I did the update to 21.0 this morning, which, I see was a mistake. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Before that, it worked fine on Mozilla. Mozilla is not very user friendly when somebody is looking to fix a technical issue, that's for sure. So, until I get this crap figured out, I'll be doing my audio downloads on IE again.
You seem to be missing the point. I do not use IE in any form. So the fact it works on it is irrelevant. I love Firefox, have all of the updates and even tried Pale Moon but find no way to import my favorites from Firefox. So I took that out. I am not sure if it is a platform problem with Real Downloader or Firefox. Real Player insists that it is a browser conflict. It worked really well until it was blocked from Firefox. Ever since. nothing. If it isn;t going to work, then so be it but it is disappointing.
I agree with MrHandy2012 - if we wanted to use IE we wouldn't pose a question on Mozilla now would we???? I have same issue - any fix yet for Firefox 22?
The two Snarky responders nonwithstanding, Real Player has stated, on its HELP page they are currently working a a Fix for 22. Meanwhile, there is a workaround that I discovered:
In your web browser (Mozilla), right click on the video's URL and select Copy. In RealPlayer, click the RealPlayer Logo, then click File, New, then New Web Browser. Paste the Copied URL into the RealPlayer browser, and click the Go arrow. RealPlayer will then open the web page and start the video, and the Download This Video option should appear.
Tried this and it does work for me.
Maybe we are going to the wrong place. If real player is the one making this claim to fame ,,,it is a good recorder when it works,, maybe we should be directing our complaints there. I know these guys here at Mozilla do a lot of good stuff so we shouldn't lay all of the blame on them Real Player makes this ,supposedly> across all platforms so it's really their problem to remedy.
Snarky,,,,that's ca new one,,,,,it is interesting that you found a work around but if I wanted to go to that much trouble, I would use one of the other shit programs out there . Real Downloader when working as it should make for the easiest way to download without having to work around anything. Read my other post,,,maybe we are looking in tne wrong place for a fix.
Some people would complain if they were hanged with a new rope. MrHandy2012, methinks you might be in that catagory!
