Booksmarks put in alpha order to find quickly
I followed the instructions about how to put my bookmarks in alpha order but it didnt work so what is the correct way to do it in alpha order a-z
I also noticed this fix in the forum- Chosen solution by philipp
hello, the view menu in the library doesn't change the arrangement of bookmarks themselves (but only allows you to temporarily view them sorted by certain criteria). in order to organize them alphabetically, right-click a bookmarks folder & select "sort by name".
but there is no sort by name in the droip down box when I right click a bookmarks folder, but I eventually found the folder and done it as sort by name showed so I click on it and closed the bookmark, then opened again but did not change?

I found the answer in a addon for firefox in Auto-Sort bookmarks 1.6, so I downloaded it and now its ok, but this is not mentioned in the support pages

In Firefox the option to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks.
Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and right-click the folder that you want to sort.
The bookmarks are sorted between separators and if you have folders and normal bookmarks then drag the folders to the top in the right pane and (temporarily) put a separator between the folders and the bookmarks.
You can do the same in the Bookmarks sidebar (Ctrl+B).
Sorting via the Views menu in the Library only shows the bookmarks in the chosen sort order and doesn't change them permanently (hence the Views name of that menu). Clicking on the header does the same.
