I've just updated to version Firefox 28.0 on my iMac and my Windows laptop. The Windows version seems to be working fine but the Mac version is constantly crashing when I try to open a new website (whether from bookmarks or the Search Bar). My home page (BBC News) launches okay. I've tried resetting and reinstalling but neither has fixed the problem.

Can you try starting in Safe Mode? You may be having a conflict with an Addon or a plugin.

Also, can you go to about:crashes and paste the crash IDs here from your recent crashes? Thanks!

I've tried restarting in Safe Mode without success; just seems to get a little bit further along in launching the new web page before crashing.

Thanks for your assistance

Hi cor-el

I have reported the issue to Trusteer. The response I got was a bit confusing; they suggested I check I was running the latest version of Trusteer (I had and I was) and report back to them if the problem persisted whilst at the same time saying that Trusteer didn't work under FF 28.0 and that their engineers were looking into it! I will await an update from Trusteer before confirming that the problem in FF 28.0 has been resolved.

Thanks for your help.

Aftere an online chat with Trusteer i was given links to uninstall Endpoint Protection software and install the latest version. This seems to have solved the problem.

Hi smcc

What version are you now running? I'm running version 3.6.1304.31 with configuration 1637287. I've tried running an update but the system tells me that this is the latest version.

Thanks

Following cor-el's and smcc's posts, I've now tried using FF 28.0 with version 3.6.1304.31 of Trusteer installed and everything seems to be working okay. It's a bit strange because I haven't received any updates of FF or Trusteer since yesterday, when I was still experiencing problems with FF, but there you go!

I am running FF28.0 withe Trusteer End Point Protection Emerald Build 1304.60 which seems to be working.
