Import old emails from Netscape 7.2
I have emails in various folders (because of a few Netscape crashes) created until last year by Netscape 7.2 which I found extremely easy to use and understood how to use. Unfortunately I have had a permanent crash and am unable to reinstall 7.2 but want to save some emails which contain old family photos as well as others containing program access codes. I thought I would be able to read them as msf files are involved. Any ideas not too geeky? Regards Derek

download an older version from the FTP site.... say Version 3.1 and it should import your old netscape mail as part of the install. Afterwards you can update to a latter version, but the older versions have better support for Netscape import.

There are some more details in this support article, http://kb.mozillazine.org/Migrate_from_Mozilla_Suite_or_Netscape_to_Thunderbird
the older versions have better support for Netscape import — actually, support for importing Netscape 6.x/7.x and Mozilla Suite profiles has been removed entirely in Thunderbird 11.0 and later, thus an earlier version is needed to make the first migration step. Thunderbird 3.x seems to be a good starting point.
