Thunderbird locks up when i delete e mails. (McAfee installed)
About 90% of the time when I delete messages, the program stops and I get a "Thunderbird not responding," message. Some times the program will resume after a while, but most often I need to close the program via task manager.

What is your anti-virus software?
I have McAfee.

Or check and see if it is AV related , please notice that turning off AV will leave your PC vulnerable , but you could also already have virus problem (?) : https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues#McAfee%3E

It didn't help. Thunderbird still locks-up, on occasion, when I delete. It also locks sometimes when I click to open a message.
