I want to move bookmarks from a non-booting Win hard disk (jspn format) to a Win 10 PC. The import dialog wants html, not json format
the motherboard on my old WIn 7 PC became damaged. I took the hard drive as e: to a new Win 10 PC. I can find the bookmark archive on the old drive - the files are in json format, but when i attempt to import the bookmarks file i can only find a way to import them as html. how do i resolve this glare condition?

If the file is json format, then it will overwrite the current file.
To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML,
JSON files; Do as above but select Restore. The file must be in the Bookmarks Backup folder.

It seems that this didnt work as planned. when i attempted to launch the "e drive" browser, it actually launched the new "c drive" one; hence the history and bookmarks were not the desired historical ones. however, by moving the "old" places.sqlite file to the new browser, i *was* able to access my historical bookmarks. weird; but it worked. i'm open to discussion on this!
