i use importexport tools and i choose "import from a directory" to import eml files from windows live mail. what happens if the directory that i select contains subfolders with eml files? will the subfolders be created in thunderbird as local subfolders?

I just tried it out, You have the choise of selecting import all messages from a directory and also from its sub directories it will import from that directory into whatever local folder you are in and also create subfolders.

You can always try with several subdirectories and fewer eml-files. The original .eml will not be deleted
