I write a new mail (in HTML format) and copy+paste an URL like "https://example.com".

The string gets entered to the mail, and is visible.

But it is plain text. It's not blue and not underlined like links are. Clicking on it does nothing.

How to copy an paste an URL?

Yes, I could use the solution provided in the link.

For me this is too complicated.

Is there no easy way to solve this?

What can I do to get his implemented? I am not able to do programming, but is there something I can do to solve this?

Send a message to yourself. You will find that a properly composed link is active in the received message. Links are NOT activated in Thunderbird's compose window, by design.

But that is what was explained in the link given to you. What is complicated about that? Short and simple; links DO NOT work in the message writing window.

Yes, you are right. I wrote a mail to myself and the link is clickable now.

But it is not very user friendly. It would be very nice if you could see it while composing the mail.
