my opening page is different no folders There is no side panel

How can I get my side panel back? I have clicked on default in the general help but it does not bring the side panels with folders back. I fear that I have deleted a lot of mail in the list that runs across the top of the page.

Go to View|Layout and tick the "Folder Pane" checkbox.

You have a lot of tabs open. Is this intentional?

Thank you for your speedy response but the check mark is in the message pane and the classic view has a dot in it and it will not respond to my actions.

I didn't open them all. I don't know how they opened up.

I don't want all of them up there. I want my side bar back.
