re :I stopped receiving emails, and can not send emails from my laptop anymore. On laptop: Are you talking about a pop or imap mail account ? On phone: Are you talking about a pop or imap connection ?

You mention a work mail account. Do you have other mail accounts/email addresses which are receiving and sending or only the one work mail account?

Did this occur after an update ? Maybe your firewall is blocking the updated version. Close Thunderbird. Access your Firewall (which may be part of your Anti-Virus product) and make sure Thunderbird is allowed. Once I had to block Thunderbird, ok it, access firewall again and set to allow. Seems the firewall had not realised the update was for the same program. Then when I started Thunderbird, all was ok.

Do not disable the AV Firewall as then the OS may use the default and it will not help to resolve issue.
