Thunderbird thinks address is in Address Book but it is not
Below is a part of a SPAM mail. As seen, the From: field is badly constructed. Address was encoded together with sender name. The address is not in address book but Thunderbird thinks the address is in address book if the sender address of the last displayed email is in address book.

See if indexing is awry.
- Right click on folder and select 'Properties'
- click on 'Repair folder' button
- click on ok
select another folder and reselect the 'fixed' one.
