Windows 10 Home Task Manager shows 6 Firefox's running.
FF 59.0.3 (64-bit).
One window open. FF has 3 tabs open in the window.
Task Manager shows all 6 Firefox's running are using memory.
???
Hacked and someone on my wireless? Previous tabs which I've closed still running? What?
Is it supposed to show one Firefox for each tab, or should it only show one Firefox no matter how many tabs are open?

Hi yes, is working as intended. Firefox, Sandbox, Extensions all show up as processes. Just need to worry if they become excessive in going through ram (which you do not mention) or do not shutdown when Firefox is shut down.

They days of 4-8gigs of ram are long over; 16 is minimum that should have and I have 32gig on this one.

It is possible to limit the amount of processes but if your computer is running fine then there is no point. Being a Multi-processor and Multi-thread browser takes advantage of your CPU cores. But here is info : Go the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 or go higher, find the sweet spot. Restart Firefox after making these changes please.
Endret
Note the number it is using has no correlation to the amount of CPU cores you have. As I have a Core 4 and have another that is 8 cores.
