Profiles are stored in two locations (local & roaming) but none of the articles I have read specify which to use OR both.
Reference: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1174885 The final answer was 'roaming' which was all that ragnajoe and myself wanted to know. The other articles about profiles, backups, recovery, '2017-10-13-12-36-19-82d39f.png',etc., ASSUMEs everyone has the same knowledge background. The problem could have been answered by referring us to: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data#w_finding-your-profile-without-opening-firefox.
Please use a more non-assuming tech editor next time.

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, each store specific files and Firefox needs the profile in both locations.
Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data in "AppData\Roaming" (Root Directory on about:profiles).
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files in "AppData\Local" (Local Directory on about:profiles).
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
