As you can see I used User Chrome to change the view from icons to text. I simply prefer text. That said, after the recent Firefox update, as per my screenshot, this is what my view of the search engine menu looks like. Speaks for itself. I don't have much more to add. The menu seems compressed and not all my search engines are showing, moreover, the search engine settings are more or less overlayed over what search engines do show, however, they are unusable, if I click on them it merely does a search using whatever engine lies beneath it.

Sorry for the fuss.

Thank you.

Hi springheel, try removing lines 13-90, and then adding this new code:

Hi springheel, do you recall where you got your userChrome.css code? Is that my code from a couple years ago that finally broke?

I don't have a working two-column layout at the moment, so it's interesting that you still get two columns.

Do you want to share your code for potential fixing? One way is to use Pastebin, no account required. When you create the paste, you can select CSS syntax below the paste box. Then share a link to the paste back here.

Yes, I think it is the same code. I modified it when it was broken not too long ago. I have added some other command to it some time ago but I don't remember what it was for, you would know before I would. I will look into Pastebin and post a link if i can, but I certainly don't have a problem with pasting the entire code here.

jscher2000 I should say, that after adding the modified code, the search engine menu is back to normal, but for some reason or another, when I start Firefox, it opens toi a blank tab. I can't say for sure, but it acts like it's trying to connect to something, like a Google search, and then it just times out. I did a search, but thus far seems to fix it. I didn't know whether to post that here it here, since this is where we spoke of the user chrome, or start another thread.

Thank you.

Hi springheel, I assume your Firefox isn't set to restore the previous session, so usually it would start up with your home page, which you could set to blank, the built-in Firefox Home page, or Custom URLs. Extensions also can take over the home page. If the problem continues, you could start a new thread describing what you expect to load and what is actually happening.
