I open the Mozilla browser and I have this yellow flag with : « We’ll stop supporting this browser soon. For the best experience please update your browser. » II click on it and it says to download the app, I click on Download, then it says Open. I click Open. Nothing!! Why is it taking me in circles?

Just in case: You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

NEVER download updates from anywhere except the programs home website.

. Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated;

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS

While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Anytime you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the website of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to https://www.mozilla.org {web link}

You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

Help us safeguard Mozilla’s trademarks by reporting misuse {web link}

For over a year, an epidemic of Fake Update Notices have been popping up all over the place. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-response-i-found-fake-firefox-update

Hi K, is this issue on your Apple device, using Firefox for iOS?

Firefox for iOS uses a different version numbering sequence, so that could explain the message. I don't know whether Firefox for iOS will actually stop working on the site that displayed the message to you or whether they are referring to an old desktop version of Firefox because of the number.

Hi, js, Yes, Apple iPad (5), using Firefox for iOS.

I went back and checked other sites I had been on and that yellow strip did not appear, but it did show on the one particular site. Thank you

So I will not be alarmed as it may be the site. They may not be as up to date on their version to identify with the version I have on this iPad

Yes?
