How delete all traces of Thunderbird so I can install afresh?

more options

When I install Thunderbird and try to run it, I get a message that the profile is missing. Thunderbird will not then start up so I can fix the problem. (I would like to install a copy of my profile from another, very similar, computer but need Thunderbird to start up in order to do so - but it will not start.) So how please can I expunge all traces of Thunderbird (Application, profiles and any other registry etc entries) such that I can then do a clean new installation?

I purchased MacOS Uninstaller in the hope that this would as it promised, remove all vestiges of Thunderbird. It did not make any difference. Thunderbird still says the profile is missing and will not start. PLEASE can anyone HELP? I am at my wits end.
