Stuck in a loop when setting up mail account

Good morning:

I am trying to set up an email account and I'm getting some strange behavior out of Thunderbird.

I click add, type my name, email address and password like normal and hit "continue". It says "configuration found", fills in all the IMAP info like it's supposed to, sweet. So I click "Done".

This opens the browser with a Google page, which makes sense. It's not an @gmail.com address but it's managed through Google's...whatever they call it...Workspaces or something? I don't know...it's managed by Google so this window is expected.

The email address is filled in, I hit "Next" and...it's asking me for my "email or phone"...so I enter it again and hit "Next"...

Rinse and repeat.

Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong here? The Google page in the browser window never asks me for my password...every time I hit next, the page just reloads asking me for my "email or phone" again. No error messages, no nothing.

Ideas?

Thanks!

This opens the browser with a Google page

It's actually a Thunderbird window, not from a browser.

Rinse and repeat.

Make sure to allow cookies in Thunderbird.

That did the trick. Thanks.
