Hello! Sometimes when I download something, when I click on the download icon in the toolbar, the download popup doesn't appear. I can fix this by restarting firefox or opening a new window. Why does this happen? I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3

Can you see the downloads in the Downloads folder in the Library and on the about:downloads page ? Are you using Private Browsing mode ?

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.
