Restore bookmarks after password reset
Since when has it been that resetting my password erased my bookmarks???? I have used Firefox for years now and amassed some very important bookmarks for work, bills and everything else. I know I have reset my password before without having lost my bookmarks, so why is it that way now?
Security be damned, it is utter bs that bookmarks are erased.

Resetting the password for the Firefox Sync account only removes data stored on the Sync server as data stored on the Sync server is encrypted locally before it is uploaded and only the original password can decrypt this data. Firefox should have shown a message about this. Note that Sync isn't meant to be used as a backup, but is meant to sync data between connected devices.
Firefox keeps backups in the bookmarkbackups folder that you can use to restore lost bookmarks.
