I am getting a request in a new window to enter credentials for pop.gmail.com It populates with my emai address and then the next page from Google says -

'400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.'

Should I try to download a new version of Thunderbird (currently using 115.15.0) ? Would that overwrite any errors? If so, should I remove the old version first, or will it simply write on top of the old one? Will my old emails still be intact - and my personal settings?

If different please advise - in the simplest of languages, please !!

Thanks.

As I clicked 'solved my problem', I don't know whether you received my further message. Just to confirm that it did work. I got an error page again, but this time it just asked me for permission to allow Thunderbird to access Gmail for my emails, which I obviously did.

Sigh of relief !!
