On some supported devices, a bug prevents Firefox from appearing in the Market. This is related to the recent Market update. You can go to Settings/Applications and uninstall the Market update, then find and install Firefox.
Or, if you have a compatible device, you can download the app directly from here with your phone's browser:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/latest-beta/android-r7/multi/
(Note: To download the app directly for an AT&T phone, you will have to search for instructions on "sideloading" the APK file, since AT&T has removed the option to install from non-Market sources.)
Also, Firefox will not appear in the Market on phones with incompatible hardware. You can check if your phone is supported here:

I tried uninstalling the market update, which worked long enough for me to go in and start the Firefox download...but by the time it downloads, before it can install, the market has updated itself back to the newest version, and the Firefox installation doesn't work. Any ideas?
You can use the direct download link above to download Firefox using your phone's web browser. Here's a shortened link, for easier typing on your phone: http://bit.ly/fxmobilebeta

Thanks for putting this link here to download the apk to pc, remember not all of us want to use the "market". We get the apk file and install it from pc with the SDK. And its Google that are blocking the installation of Firefox. They also try to block the installation of anything they don't say.

The LG Optimus One is not compatible with the current mobile Firefox releases due to using a ARMv6 chip and not the ARMv7 (ARM11). As said If it is not in Market then the hardware is not compatible.
The "LG Optimus One" uses the Qualcomm MSM7627 chip which is not compatible with the current mobile Firefox releases due to being ARMv6.
You can however try the experimental ARMv6 nightly builds named Fennec.

Thank you for your reply...but unfortunately also ARMv6_.28experimental.29 doesn't work...
