I updated my Firefox to 8.0 and it would never load. As soon as I open up Firefox it crashes instantly. I removed it and reloaded Mozilla and it is still crashing. It will not open up in Safe Mode.

The drastic option is to use firefox 3.6 instead. Note however I am able to run Firefox 8 and 9 on an XP.

Update Roboform. That has been fixing this for many people, including me!  :)
