After upgrading to 8.0, Firefox has displayed an erratic behavior as it jumps to "server not found" pages multiple times - automatically - with no key entries of any kind.
While I am typing this message to you the browser has generated several "server not found" pages at random points of time.
This is annoying because several new tabs open and I need to close them before I can return to typing this message.
Can I return to an older version if there is no current solution to this problem?
Thank you for your attention to this problem; Tom

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

I found the network.http.max-connections value to be 48 and lowered it to 30. This did not solve the problem.

Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.%c2%90%c2%b0%c3%85s%c2%ba%c3%be%7f%c3%b7.com. Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Thank you for your concern an advice so far. I am still search for an answer that might solve this problem.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
