Firefox not blocking pop-ups
I went and checked the topic about pop-ups here at Firefox, and according to that description I'm getting pop-ups that Firefox cannot stop: "Sometimes ads are designed to look like windows, but really aren't. Firefox's pop-up blocker can't stop these ads. "
Is there any free program I can download that would deal with those ads Firefox can't stop?
Edit: if it helps, here is a description of what happens:
1. A Firefox window that has no bars at the top except the address bar appears.
2. The address is shown as "about:blank"
3. After less than a second, the address changes to "adv-adserver.com/(random numbers/letters), then is redirected to some site advertizing something.
Endret

Sounds like Malware on your PC causing those pop-ups.
Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficacy.
(Not all programs detect the same Malware, so you may need to run them all to solve your problem.)
These programs are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.
Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.
