Hello,

Your question is a little vague for us to help you with. From the description of the problem, your website is including a snippet to have Paypal buttons on it. But, when you try to click the dropdown link from your website, you are not able to see the icons, rather you are only seeing text. I am guessing that you have the Paypal buttons code in the drop-down. Is that so?

Kindly provide us more information so that we are able to help you further.

Thank you

Try these basic steps in case of issues with web pages:

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Hi, Thanks for reply. For info, I am using website builder from MrSite.com If I view my website on Internet explorer, all works fine ie: paypal 'buy it now' and 'view cart' yellow buttons appear correctly when clicking items from drop down tabs from home page. So it must be a Mozilla issue, attached images for you to see the problem. The one where no buttons appear and text appears, seems to work if you click on the text, ie: it will still take you to the view cart/buy it now page ok, but it should show the yellow buttons not the text. Any ideas ??? Regards. mpix3.

Thank you for giving me more details. To summarize, the issue is that on Firefox, a site created using mrsite.com doesn't display the paypal buttons whereas on IE, this is displaying fine.

Is it possible for you to clear the cache by following these instructions How to clear the Firefox cache and then checking. If that doesn't help, can you please get the source code of the page in Firefox and attach it to this issue, so that we can take a look. You can do this by opening your site in Firefox and then once the page is loaded, right click on the page and select the 'View Page Source' option. From the menu, you can select File -> Save As to your desktop and then send us the file as an attachment.

Initial hunch is that the image is not getting loaded from the paypal site due to some configuration on Firefox - could be the cache or some plugin. Once we are able to view the source, we can help further.

Thank you

Hi, Thanks for your reply. For info, I am using version 25 of Firefox, latest version of Java and flash. Also, when I use IE or Google Chrome the pages loads fine with no problems, so it must be just a Firefox issue. Here is the source code, cannot attach using the 'add image' button here as it just hangs on loading for ages !

Sorry, looks like full code is not displaying here in the reply box .? and cannot send using the ' upload image' either ! So here is my website www.mpix3.co.uk So using Firefox, from home page, click on one of the drop down tabs and select an item, you should see the shop page with the yellow PayPal buttons...when I try it there is just text instead of the PayPal yellow buttons. Regards.

Hello,

I tried the same thing on my browser and the Paypal link did display (attached screenshots), so this looks like a problem that is very specific to your browser. I can help troubleshoot the issue, but will require you to try the developer tools and provide more details from them. Are you ok to do that?

Also, since you are mentioning that you are not able to upload images on support.mozilla.org either, am suspecting something is an issue.

Can you try running Firefox in Safe Mode and checking if the issue persists.

Thank you

Hi, Thanks again for reply, I have tried safe mode and the problem is still apparent.

I am no software expert, so if you could tell me what to do with the developer tools then maybe we could try to see what the problem is.

Many Thanks,

Those buttons show up for me after a short delay in Firefox 25 with the above posted code.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

Hi, Sorry for delay and thanks for your detailed reply.

However I have now resolved the issue completely ! It was a security certificate error, where by my Kaspersky antivirus was blocking contact to PayPal as it labelled the site 'untrusted' and having unknown security certificate... I found this out by right clicking over the text where the PayPal yellow button image should of been ( it was displaying 'buy it now..' text instead of the correct 'buy it now' yellow button) ... then I clicked on 'view image', that is when Kaspersky kicked in , blocked the connection, and told me could not connect to PayPal due to the security certificate being unknown, so I created an 'exception' in Kaspersky settings to allow this connection to PayPal, and hey presto... buttons appeared and page displays correctly ! So, all is working fine, but still don't really understand why IE and Google Chrome didn't have that problem..?? Anyway, all is fine now, Thanks again for you assistance.. Regards.
