I tried to update firefox, and ended up uninstalling and reinstalling, however, it still looks like the old version and Google is the home page. What do I do?
I was having problems yesterday getting into the iTunes store. Because of that problem I have updated Quick Time, Java, iTunes, and Windows. I still can't get into the iTunes store, but I noticed that Firefox looked different on the website than it does on my pc. I decided to update. Nothing changed. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the product, but it still looks the same. What do I need to do? Also, when I tried to download iTunes through Firefox it would not let me. I ended up using Chrome to download the iTunes software, but never got through to the iTunes store.

Firefox 22 has no new look.
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/22.0/releasenotes/
and the fourm software detected you are using firefox 22 (the latest version).
I have tried to attach an screen print of Firefox, but it will not attach. My Firefox still looks like the old version and has none of the features of the current version 22 that you say I have.
In trying to be able to connect to the itunes store, I was looking at what is allowed through my firewall. I found that the following is not being allowed through: Plugin Container for Firefox. Should I have my firewall allow this?
Also, when I tried to download the itunes software through Firefox, it would not download. I had to use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.
Can you help me figure out what is going on??? I also have Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013 on my computer.
Thanks!
go to http://www.whatsmyuseragent.com/ copy and paste whats below "Your User Agent string Is" here and post it.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 Your IP Address: 71.50.209.79
Do you need more of the page than this?
Nope, you do have FIrefox 22.
You get the orange Firefox menu button when the menu bar is hidden.
- Firefox menu button > Options
- View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
- Right-click empty toolbar area

You have Firefox 22, there aren't going to be any new features that you can see from Firefox 21, so things should look the same (and btw, to add a screenshot, click Browse below this comment box). As for itunes, I'm confused as to what the problem is exactly, please explain clearly.
Plugin Container for Firefox. Should "Plugin Container for Firefox" be allowed through my firewall?
This is what my screen looks like:
FF Symbol (My question) mim max and X File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help FF Symbol Tab (My question) What's My User Agent? Tab Bar to input web address Getting Started Yahoo Sign in Gmail Sign in Facebook (etc. More web sites)
I don't think this looks like what the website shows that version 22 should look like. What is going on????
You just have Firefox's menu bar turned on instead of the firefox button. That's not bad, just how Firefox is set up on your computer. You can change that. Click View, then toolbars, then uncheck Menu bar.
OK...here is the itunes issue. I was trying to access the itunes store since my daughter has a gift card. Had Firefox open, had the itouch connected, however, the itunes store will not open. Called support (don't have a "contract"). Gave me some ideas which included uninstalling and reinstalling the itunes software.
When I tried to download the software using Firefox, it would not download, so I used Chrome. Downloaded, installed, opened but would not connect to the store.
I have gone through pretty much every suggestion made on itunes support site and still nothing is helping open the store.
I run the network connectivity diagnostic in itunes and get the following:
- Secure Link to iTunes Store Failed. Just not sure what to do.
BTW...I have the orange Firefox button now! Thanks for the links to view how to change!
Also, I tried to browse and select the file with my screen print, but it said their was an error tying to upload.
Any issues with itunes not connecting isn't an issue with Firefox (Apple isn't connected to Mozilla in anyway) I'd recommend going to a local Apple store.
Any reason why Firefox would not download the software???
Also, does anyone have an answer regarding "Plugin Container for Firefox". It is NOT being allowed through my firewall, should it be allowed and what is it for???
Firefox should have downloaded itunes, but it sounds like you downloaded it and it's installed, so it's beyond Firefox now.
And yes, plugin container for firefox should be allowed
