Is it possible to have the Edit Contact open in a separate window? When adding a contact from an email the contact info window opens as part of the current window. Many times it covers the senders info and the contact window has to opened and closed many times to get the info. This does not happen on the Windows version

I don't know about the separate window. But see https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/addressbooktab/ and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/contact-tabs/

The AddressBookTab add-on doesn't work well with Thunderbird 45.
