I am getting updates on Firefox ever other day, and this has been going on for a while, but now it's getting kind of annoying! Why is my browser requesting updates every other day or so?

hello, you appear to be using a pre-release beta version which receives frequent updates - you could download and switch to the firefox release version instead which is getting updates on a six week schedule: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#firefox

When you are on the Beta update channel then you usually updates twice a week (Tuesday and Friday).

The Beta channel usually gets say six to twelve updates for each new version with nine being the usual amount in last number of Releases.

So far there is a 31.0b3 yet the Beta page on mozilla.org still links to the old 31.0b1

The more bleeding edge Aurora and Nightly channels gets checkins almost everyday and therefore it gets a update each of those days.

The Firefox Release which is currently 30.0 does not get updates unless they felt a chemspill update was warranted for either security and or stability bug fixes and the first update version would be 30.0.1.
