There's nothing next to the tabs. Usually there's a plus sign to add new tabs but now it's not there. I tried googling it but no luck. Please help.

Please be patient as everyone here is a volunteer and logs in on their own time. Right now is not a great time to post as it is the night-time and most of the active contributors are offline. I will try to assist you as best I can though.

Usually, a missing new tab button is usually caused by a bad add-on.

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

  • Windows/Mac: Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
  • Linux: Run firefox -safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button to restore the default toolbar setup

moses, Thanks for your help! I went through all my new addons and low and behold, I had added one that "removes the new tab plus sign." I thought it meant something entirely different. All is working right now.

Thanks! nanciewanda
