Browser slow, have refeshed and used malware scan. Still running slow.
Firefox is slow to start up and then slow to load tabs and sites. I have refreshed the browser and ran antivirus and malware scans (clean bill of health). My PC was bough new earlier this year and it runs on Windows 10. I have had the slow browser problem for around a week.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database file then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database file from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.
