In the left hand pane of Thunderbird, where it lists all my message folders it also gives a count of how many unread messages there are in that folder like this: Inbox (16).

For the last few weeks, even when every message in my inbox has been read it still says: Inbox (2). Nowhere can I find these unread messages.

What's going on, folks, and how do I fix this, please?

Are you viewing 'Unified' folders ?

TRy swapping to 'All' folders. 'View' > 'Folders' >'All' or 'Menu icon' > 'Folders' >'All'

If already viewing 'All' folders: Right click on 'Inbox' and select 'Properties' click on 'Repair folder' button click on OK
