Shockwave plugin stops responding with Firefox ESR 45.6
We keep on getting an error " shock wave plugin stopped responding" error when printing pdfs from Firefox ESR 45.6 (latest ESR) However we do not get the same error when we are using Firefox 50.1.0 (latest release). The version of shock wave plugin is v24.0 r0.
Could you please help debug this issue. Also can someone please advise if 45.6 is equivalent (contains the same fixes/enhancements ) to 50.1.0?

You are talking about two different plugins. The Shockwave Flash Player Version: 24.0.0.194 and printing pdfs which would be done using Firefox internal or the Adobe Reader.
Make sure your Shockwave is the current (updated) version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
Flash Player Version: 24.0.0.194
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Update your Adobe Reader Version 2015.023.20053 Note: Other Software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
I noticed that you filed this message using your Firefox 50.0
Please run your ESR Firefox and do the following;
Open this post.
Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.
The flash player is already on the up-to-date version. I also installed Adobe Acrobat Reader from your link but the shockwave plugin still stops responding when I try to print pdfs.
Also please note that it does work with Firefox 50.1.0 but not with ESR 45.6
