Firefox, at least for the past 3 or four years has been a joy to use and a welcome change from IE (anyversion). That said, this latest release is a bit of a disaster. Slow, memory hogging, (the technical term for this is CLUNKY) and difficult, I cannot for the life of me believe that your organization would publish this release with the problems that have generated a virtual flood of adverse comment from your user base.

It's all well and good to throw open your problem resolution to your "Community of Users) but, at what point does someone at your corporate level take responsibility for a kludge of this scale?

Fix it or give your user base a map to perform a "self fix".

Can you follow the steps at How do I disable Accessibility Services? and disable accessibility services in Firefox? This should help performance in firefox 57

17 Since you are no longer running version 57 then this post is redundant. As well no support messages to help address your concerns and to rectify the issues.

Unfortunately 56.0.2 is no longer safe to use for every day use do to security issues, but 52.5.0 ESR is. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
