Please open a New Tap and go to the Gear Icon in the Top Right corner of the page. Click the Gear and turn Pocket off and anything else you do not want.

Pocket Recommendations on the New Tab Page

These are pages other people have added to their Pocket lists. To hide those, please see the first reply, and also this article: Customize your New Tab page to hide or display content.

Save Page to Pocket icon in the Address Bar

You can add pages to your own Pocket list using this icon. To remove it from the bar (it will still be available on the ••• menu), right-click the icon > Remove from Address Bar.
