I cannot post a comment to any site that requires FB login
When I attempt to log in to any site using FB, a pop up screen appears. Somehow, I have placed "1" in the body of the pop up. This freezes the system making it impossible to login to any site requesting FB verificitation. HELP? I am unable to provide a screenshot. This is simply the generic page that always pops up during FB login by Firefox. Only mine has a number "1" in the body.

Hi DrWh0m, thank you for sharing your add-ons list with your original question. Sorry for not noticing this earlier!
You are using the Facebook Container add-on which is designed to isolate FB from all the other sites you visit. I think SFGate cannot access your FB account, because of the solid walls that container places around FB addresses. As described on the extension's description page:
Because you will be logged into Facebook only in the Container, embedded Facebook comments and Like buttons in tabs outside the Facebook Container will not work. This prevents Facebook from associating information about your activity on websites outside of Facebook to your Facebook identity.
In addition, websites that allow you to create an account or log in using your Facebook credentials will generally not work properly. Because this extension is designed to separate Facebook use from use of other websites, this behavior is expected.
So... what to do about that. If you want to continue to isolate FB from sites like SFGate, and you don't particularly want your SFGate comments to show up on FB, the workaround you found (use a different sign-in method) is probably simplest.
On the other hand, if there are particular sites you WANT to mingle data with FB, then, hmm, you might not be able to use this add-on.

Dear shadowperson- I have deleted the FB cookie. I have cleared my cache. I do not use Firefox password manager. The popup screen no longer has the "1" in the body yay! Still the login attempt hangs up bummer. Screen sez "connecting Mozilla Firefox." address is https://gigya-register.sfgate.com/GS/GSLogin.aspx?code=AQAeH3Y6feWvEJx9mBJGE5qKVkveZIWWoXwPusOxUxMB27J80nxOH646Gy_CEr4qSZ_EcTOaVr3VmmPQOfMvm1DcIxX3UA4P2zO9k8XpKx3-8O3c8wuSGwiyErsMhVfHEH3DFODilMslKiZmDAY2FAy6iojRHcbxUgPiX7mcGH_GJhXB14j36oL0kL19lq-VwC61_euTMEtkKaJnhjvl3qXLU5fvFqygmTL6H2Fnjj2Qfi0lMQs6hJthAtYpcDTZf2yJ8ZpdgA2RCYI1wCXH5yPHdXNXDvUdqBKqw8gpg7y2AY9vJb60FaNA7IJDLkWLwnw&state=mt%3DbnUrBhz3Ck15hTMaCzPLmiTsGRB1lrZdceZBKfZ3hUY.#_=_
so...I tried the ol' 'puter restart, then cleared cache again, removed FB cookie again, and logged out of FB. Tried to comment on a news article, popup screen appears AND THE NUMBER "1" is back arggghhh!
OK...latest status. I logged out of FB, cleared cache, deleted FB cookie, restarted 'puter. Opened news website, attempted to comment. Dialog box opens, login to FB successful. New dialog box opens and freezes. heading: Mozilla Firefox address bar: https://www.facebook.com/v2.8/dialog/oauth?channel=https%3A%2F%2Fstaticxx.facebook.com%2Fconnect%2Fxd_arbiter%2Fr%2F1e2RywyANNe.js%3Fversion%3D42%23cb%3Df203e5190c594f2%26domain%3Dsubscribe.washingtonpost.com%26origin%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fsubscribe.washingtonpost.com%252Ff3c88845428e214%26relation%3Dopener&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fstaticxx.facebook.com%2Fconnect%2Fxd_arbiter%2Fr%2F1e2RywyANNe.js%3Fversion%3D42%23cb%3Df2c2e1481bf394%26domain%3Dsubscribe.washingtonpost.com%26origin%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fsubscribe.washingtonpost.com%252Ff3c88845428e214%26relation%3Dopener%26frame%3Df15076d24b3f1aa&display=popup&scope=email&response_type=token%2Csigned_request&domain=subscribe.washingtonpost.com&origin=1&client_id=41245586762&ret=login&sdk=joey&logger_id=6ea5d5f6-9e40-0123-1437-ecc83976125c&ext=1531600438&hash=AeaIg2hdqLgwQg0j

News Flash back. That helps us how? What does google account have to do with FF?
I do not know. I'm just a retired guy in a New Mexico village. If I have a choice of posting a reply to a news article using FB or Google...Google works, FB does not. I'm thinking, I should be talking to FB. Thanks for your time.
