I'm having issues with content blocking (mixed passive). I'm unable to get the green padlock on couple of websites. Already tried to block the mixed passive.

What issues do you have with mixed passive content? Why do you want a green padlock on these websites?

You can check the Web Console to see what content this is about.

  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

Firefox doesn't block mixed passive content, but will show a special padlock when mixed passive content is detected. There is usually no need to block mixed passive content, but that is the only way to get a normal padlock.

It's my understanding this situation leaves user open to MITM attack. The issue occurs on sites w/ videos. I followed Mozilla's instructions & blocked mixed passive content on YouTube but haven't been successful on other sites. I even got several Microsoft tech 2's involved & they couldn't fix it either. However it gave me the opportunity to expose them to Firefox & Duck Duck Go during the remote sessions as I do not allow them to use anything else. So far I've gained several converts & am happy to spread the word but would love to figure this out. I've read W3 mixed content, Web security/MDN & ALL related articles, Browser Security & Mixed Content/Blackboard, Troubleshooting mixed content errors- Cloudflare articles. Publicly accessible sites are Center for Humane Technology.com & some of the links on Galactic Connection.com. From all I've read, it seems Safari is the only browser that has solved the mixed passive content dilemma & since Windows10 was configured to block it's use that's not an option for me. Thanks.
