TB has just updated itself to 68.3.1 and EVERY SINGLE EMAIL HAS BEEN DELETED!!!! So has my address book. Needless to say I am not happy with this, how can I get them back please? I was using an older version which I had to use in order to import .dbx files from Outlook Express. However I remember reading that if you update TB to a later or the current version, all emails, address book etc.. are retained but clearly this is not the case. Why has this happened and how do I get my emails back??

This is a catastrophic failure of Thunderbird and I will now be uninstalling it. I cannot rely on a piece of software which deletes all data when it updates. I suggest you address this issue right now before all other users lose their data.

My guess it has deleted nothing. But you almost guaranteed yourself not getting an answer at all by replying to yourself. The topic no longer appears in the unanswered queue as it has been responded to. It is not as if you added anything useful one hour after you first posting, just the usual comments that I have come to expect from certain users.
