Hello nugentjp,

Multiple of browsers have multiple processes running, this is either for smaller processes the browsers use in the background or for specific tabs. Closing the other processes may or may not affect how the browser runs or just your tabs.

More than one process is normal for the current Firefox. http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/22/multi-process-firefox/
