I am sure I'm not the only one that gets MANY emails with similar subjects like "order #23456789".

It would be nice if there would a feature which would allow the subject to be edited/annotated and/or an "annotation" column that one could fill in so the subject would than look like: "order #23456789" - printer paper for instance.

Well, it may not answer all of your desires, but there is an addon (that I happen to use), called EditEmailsubject MX, that you may want to try.
