Had to clean up hard-drive on Mac OS Catalina - erase, restore, etc and reinstall thunderbird. I have reinstated all my emails but apparently not my addressbook. I have a Time Machine backup that I've been restoring from. Where will I find my email addressbook and how to restore it? Many thanks.

Why didn't you restore the entire Thudnerbird profile? It has all your Tbird data including addressbooks. See Profiles - Where Thunderbird stores your messages and other user data

Because I had no idea what I was doing. Was following instructions from an Apple Support person. I'll try to follow the advice in the link.

I've found my profile using the suggestion from the link you sent. But now what do I do?

All you have to do is replace the contents of that profile folder with the contents of the profile folder that was backed up by Time Machine.

Time Machine backup → Current profile folder

Thanks. I've tried that as I'm VERY familiar with that process now, after manually restoring apps, etc on my Mac. I've just done a search for the Thunderbird profile folder on the backup and can't find it. Weird. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go back to Apple Support. My guess (out of complete ignorance!) is that they may have had me move it, rather than copy or replace. Sigh....
