Thunderbird email client no longer works Yahoo after upgrade to 102.2.1
I am a Verizon (AOL Mail) user. AOL requires authentication using OAuth2. I set this up months ago using an application (AOL) generated password and it's been working fine. This morning after an upgrade to 102.2.1, it no longer works and I'm getting the message:
The server does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings'.
I searched prior issues with this problem under Mozilla support. As a result, I tried generating a new application password. I input the new password to Thunderbird and it worked ONCE. Now I am receiving the same error message again from Thunderbird.
Being able to upgrade a software release and receive at least the same functionality as in the prior release is a basic tenet in the software industry. And many AOL users will be impacted.
Suggestions for a remedy? Or is this a bug that Mozilla needs to get a hotfix out for?
Many thanks.

AOL have never actually supported oAuth on Verizon. They require an application password is my limited understanding, but perhaps being legacy just normal password will suffice. My AOL account works with oAuth, but the Verizon servers have never had an oAUth secret for it to be used.
Verizon uses need these settings https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-set-up-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-verizon-net-mail
Have you checked what authentication method AOL support for legacy verizon users?
Thanks for responding.
Same authentication method that AOL supports for legacy AOL users - my understanding was oAuth. They changed this just within the past couple of years. When I tried to set it up using "normal password", it didn't work. It was necessary to change it to "Oauth". I will try it again.
An update produced a problem with people using yahoo servers, oauth - it has been fixed please update Thunderbird to version 102.2.2
