This can be caused by extensions like I don't care about cookies, I still don't care about cookies or uBlock Origin with "EasyList – Cookie Notices" filter list enabled in the Annoyances section.

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

Thanks for your reply Zeroknight. I'm not using any of those extensions, but am using Norton anti track, which I disabled for CNN but it made no difference. I'm too old and not tech savvy enough to use troubleshoot mode. My son suggested using a different browser so I switch to Microsoft edge to access CNN. Thanks again for taking the trouble to reply.
